Advice to customers
Concealed systems
|
Tips and tricks of the trade
-
Before the system is put into operation, leave mounted buttons wrapped in their original PE covering (bag). This way you will protect the button from damage as work is being finished.
-
Before putting the fill valve into operation, allow a small amount of water to trickle through the infill hose, in this way you will remove dirt from intake of water (clean the water pipes) avoiding potential problems.
-
When mounting and tightening the toilet pan, ensure that the spacing segments on the plastic pad enclose the hole in the pan from the top of the screw. This will prevent the pan from leaning to one side.
-
Grease all pipe connections with mounting soap before mounting (or liquid soap). This will avoid possible seal damage and make mounting easier.
Toilet cisterns and flushing valves
-
On all fill valve connections there is a small detachable filter in the connecting thread that catches larger particles of dirt.
-
The universality of flush valves – valve construction allows for valve adjustment to most types of cistern.
-
The economy of flush valves
-
STOP system – the user can directly influence the flush volume by stopping the flush. 1) Press START to flush. 2) Press STOP to stop flush.
-
DUAL system – the user flushes by using two preset volumes of water. 1) Press small button for half volume of water.
-
Press large button for full volume of water.
-
-
When installing the flush valve the seal belongs on the inner side of the cistern.
-
The high position cistern cannot use the STOP or DUAL system. The user may however set the volume of flushed water.

Faults (note regarding faults and their removal)
Tips and tricks of the trade
-
! WARNING ! – When installing a toilet pan with a low position cistern, ensure that there is enough distance between the pan and the wall (of the cistern) so that the toilet seat can safely remain in an upright position.
-
The recommended height of a low positioned cistern from the toilet pan is determined by the length of the bend as supplied
-
The lowest position for a high position cistern from the bottom of the toilet pan is 1.6m
-
The most effective flushing is from the highest possible water level in the cistern (2cm below the level of the flush valve overflow pipe).
-
Plastic plumbing fittings soiled by limescale can be very easily cleaned by being soaked in a solution of 2-3% of household vinegar.
Siphons
Tips and tricks of the trade
-
! WARNING ! – Some chemical cleaning agents can sharply increase the temperature in waste fittings during chemical reactions, damaging the stainless steel and chrome parts of plumbing fittings and degrade plastic materials. Such damage is not covered by the guarantee.
-
In a shower stall, ensure that the distance between the siphon and the internal sewerage is as short as possible. Orientate the stall in such a way that the siphon is placed away from the entrance.
-
The guarantee does not cover siphons that have become blocked; therefore access to the odour stop is important for it to be cleaned (service opening).
-
Don’t forget the service opening – access to the siphon from the outside.
-
With siphons that have a side inlet for a washing machine or dishwasher, do not remove the plug (on the side inlet) before connecting the given facility to the respective inlet.
-
If the water column in the siphon drops or unhygienic odours percolate from the sewerage system, it is necessary to discuss the problem with an expert responsible for sewerage system. The fault is not in your siphon.
-
If the through-flow in the siphon is lower than that guaranteed by the manufacturer, in most cases the problem is blockage caused by sediment either in the siphon itself or in the sewerage system.
-
With the operated bath siphon we do not recommend shortening the flexible overflow hose; instead we recommend looping the hose behind the bath.
